In early October the new building of the Modern Hungarian Gallery was completed. An estate of the art' glass forefront has been attached to the nicely renovated gallery. Modern Hungarian Gallery in Papnövelde street is basically the eastern extension of Káptalan ('Museum') street. The gallery kicks off its professional existence with the temporary exhibition of the Kabakci collection, followed by 'The Group of the Eight' (Béla Czóbel and fellow companions) from the early 20th century under the spell of Cézanne and Matisse. The exhibition space will give home to temporary exhibitions as well as the permanent collection of the Modern Gallery.
